Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 13, 2026
VPS Host Review operates at vpshostreview.com. This policy explains what information the site collects, how it is used, and what choices you have as a visitor or registered user.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you register, we collect your display name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored as a one-way cryptographic hash — we cannot recover the original value. If you choose to register or sign in via Google, we receive your Google account name, email address, and a unique identifier issued by Google. We do not receive your Google password.
Review content
Any review you submit — ratings and written comments — is stored in our database. Approved reviews are published publicly on the site under your display name, where they may be indexed by search engines.
Contact enquiries
Messages sent via the contact form are forwarded by email to our support address. They are not stored in the site database.
Outbound click data
When you click a "Visit website" link on a provider page, the click is recorded (provider and timestamp). No personally identifiable information is captured in the click record. This data helps us identify broken affiliate links and understand which providers generate the most visitor interest.
Sign-in timestamps
We record the date and time of your most recent successful sign-in for account security purposes. We do not log page views or browsing activity.
2. Cookies and Session Data
The site sets a single session cookie when you sign in. It identifies your session on the server and is deleted when you log out or close your browser. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.
Cloudflare Turnstile. The registration form and contact form use Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot-detection service operated by Cloudflare, Inc. Turnstile may set its own cookies or use device signals as part of that check. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we hold to:
- Operate the site and maintain your account.
- Send transactional emails: email address verification, password resets, and review status notifications.
- Publish approved reviews publicly under your display name.
- Detect and prevent spam, abuse, and fraudulent review submissions.
We do not use your email address for marketing emails, newsletters, or any communication you did not initiate.
4. Affiliate Links and Commission Disclosure
Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. When you visit a hosting provider through one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission paid by the provider. You pay nothing extra.
Affiliate relationships have no influence on review scores, editorial rankings, or the content of any review on this site. Rankings are determined entirely by scores submitted by registered users.
5. Information We Do Not Sell
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or email address with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. This applies to all registered users regardless of location.
6. Third-Party Services
The following third-party services operate on parts of this site:
- Google OAuth — optional sign-in method. Subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection on registration and contact forms. Subject to the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
When you follow an outbound link to a hosting provider, that site's own privacy practices apply. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the privacy practices of any third-party site reached through links on this site.
7. Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active. Published review content becomes part of the permanent public record of the site and is retained after account deletion; it continues to display under your original display name unless you request its removal at the time of deletion.
To delete your account, contact us. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable time.
8. Your Rights
If you are located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you have rights under applicable law to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Submit these requests via the contact page.
For California residents: we do not sell personal information as defined under CCPA, so no opt-out mechanism is required. You may submit a data access or deletion request at any time using the contact form.
9. Policy Updates
We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected in a revised effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a revised policy is published constitutes acceptance of the changes.
10. Contact
Questions about this policy can be submitted via the contact page.
